I am here as a result of the pandemic and wanting to continue to be creative. I went into the pandemic completing my final year studying Fine Art at Wrexham/Glyndwr University, result my final year degree show, which consisted of sculptural shapes in cement, was displayed in my back garden.
Looking to continue with something creative after the pandemic I lighted upon the ceramics course at Winsford, I have dipped into night school ceramic classes over the years but have never attended a fully structured, start with a thumb pot, course in ceramics.
During the course I was introduced/instructed in the art of slip casting and have found something that allows me not only to make repetitive shapes, which I really like, but also to decorative and embellishment techniques, which means the finished pieces are individual. I am looking forward to honing my slip casting skills and dipping my toe into the world of glazing.
